3/8" Solid braid nylon is a firm round braided cord manufactured in a parallel construction. Nylon is one of the strongest and most versatile fibers used in this type of braid. Nylon solid braid offers high strength, good elasticity, and good memory under heavy loads. It is resistant to abrasion, most chemicals, and does not mildew. Typically used on commercial grade flagpoles up to 80' with flags sizes up to 20x30'. Priced by the Foot. Most external halyard flagpoles require twice the exposed height in rope. Example: a 20' flagpole requires 40' of rope.

3/8" Solid Braided Nylon Halyard Rope
A heavy-duty braided nylon halyard for large commercial poles and big flags. It is a small but essential component of a long-lasting flag display: the right hardware reduces flag wear, prevents the halyard from tangling, and makes daily raising and lowering smoother.
Poles with 6-inch and larger butt diameters and flags 8×12 ft and up. All metal parts are finished to resist corrosion, and the design matches standard residential and commercial flagpole fittings. Order the same diameter hardware as your pole's top fitting, and replace worn snaps or frayed halyard before they fail.
Who This Is For
- •Homeowners replacing worn snaps or halyard on an existing pole
- •Commercial property managers maintaining multiple poles
- •Schools, municipalities, and churches with annual maintenance cycles
- •Anyone adding a second flag to a single-flag pole
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what size 3/8" solid braided nylon halyard rope I need?
Match the hardware to your pole's top diameter or halyard diameter. For example, 3/4" swivel snaps fit most residential poles up to 25 ft; #2 snaps fit 8×12 ft and larger commercial flags.
When should I replace halyard or snaps?
Inspect halyard and snaps every spring. Replace if you see fraying, corrosion, cracks in the vinyl snap cover, or if the snap no longer rotates freely. Most residential setups benefit from fresh hardware every 3–5 years.
Can I add a second flag using a double-pulley truck?
Yes. A double-pulley revolving truck gives you two independent halyards, which is the cleanest way to fly the U.S. flag with a state or service branch flag below it on the same pole.
