25 ft heavy-duty commercial flagpole with a 5" butt and 0.188" wall, made in the USA from 6063-T6 aluminum. Wind-rated to 232 MPH without flag, it's our highest-spec 25-footer — built for coastal exposure, high-wind zones, and sites that need maximum strength without going up in pole diameter. Complete kit ships with a gold or silver ball ornament, revolving truck, halyard, vinyl-covered flag snaps, cleat, flash collar, and ground sleeve. Recommended flag: 5' x 8'. Available in Satin, Clear Anodized, Bronze Anodized, and Black Anodized finishes.
25 ft Heavy-Duty Commercial Flagpole (5-inch Butt)
The 5-inch, 0.188-inch-wall Heavy Duty 25-footer is built for the most demanding sites we serve. First: any coastal site within 20 miles of the Atlantic, Gulf, or Pacific where Category 1+ hurricane risk is real — the 0.188-inch wall delivers a 232 MPH unflagged rating so the pole stays standing through the storm. Second: civic and institutional sites that fly the flag 24/7 with illumination, where structural inspection liability sits with the property owner. Third: dealerships, hotels, and visitor-facing properties that want a 5×8 ft flag flying steady and true in exposed afternoon wind.
Stamped engineering letters for permitting are available within a week as a paid add-on. Freight delivery is included to commercial docks; for non-dock sites, add lift-gate service. Lead time is typically 3–4 weeks from order to delivery.
When to Choose the 5-inch Heavy-Duty Over the Standard 4-inch
- •Coastal sites within 20 miles of the Atlantic, Gulf, or Pacific
- •Properties in hurricane-prone counties (FL, NC, SC, TX, LA, MS, AL)
- •Sites flying a 6×10 ft or larger flag year-round
- •Civic buildings, fire stations, and police HQs flying 24/7 with illumination
- •Auto dealerships and visitor-facing retail with high foot traffic and liability exposure
- •Any site where the local design wind speed (ASCE 7) exceeds 130 MPH
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this "heavy-duty" vs. the standard 25 ft commercial pole?
The butt diameter is the same 5 inches; the wall thickness steps up from 0.156" (Standard) to 0.188" (3/16") on Heavy Duty. That extra material is what changes the rated wind speed with a 5×8 ft flag from 110 MPH to 140 MPH per the engineered spec sheet.
Is this pole hurricane-rated?
Rated for a 5×8 ft flag at 140 MPH in ASCE 7 Exposure Category C, which covers Category 4 sustained wind. For permit submission in hurricane zones, request the engineered footing detail — deeper bell-shaped footing with rebar cage — which lets the entire assembly meet Florida Building Code high-velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ) requirements.
Can I install this myself?
You can dig the footing yourself, but raising the pole onto a 25 ft sleeve really requires two adults and a third person on a tag line. Most owners hire a local installer for the lift even if they did the dig and pour themselves.
What size flag should I fly?
A 5×8 ft flag is the engineered rating on this pole. The 0.188" wall gives real headroom against gusts and long-duration high winds compared to the Standard. Larger flag sizes should be reviewed against a site-specific wind-load calc before ordering.
Do I need stamped drawings for my permit?
Most jurisdictions require stamped drawings for any commercial flagpole over 20 ft. We provide them within 5–7 business days for an additional fee — send your address and AHJ name when ordering to get a quote.
How does this ship?
Freight to a commercial dock is included. The pole ships in a single 25 ft crate; freight typically transits in 5–10 business days after the order builds. Add lift-gate service at checkout if your site does not have a forklift.

This Pole's Specs
Manufacturer-tested wind rating and recommended flag size for this exact model. Sizing your flag correctly keeps the pole within its rated wind speed. See the full sizing guide →
Wind rating reflects manufacturer-tested performance for the flagpole without a flag installed. Flying a flag — especially one larger than recommended — reduces the effective wind rating.
How Installation Works
Commercial-grade flagpoles are a more involved install than residential. The pole has to be carefully plumbed and the ground sleeve packed with sand for proper load handling. We recommend professional installation; in Central Ohio we install them ourselves.
It Arrives Ready to Install
In-stock flagpoles ship to 48 states. You receive the pole, ground sleeve, hardware, and instructions.
Set the Ground Sleeve
Dig the foundation per the included spec, set the steel ground sleeve, plumb it true, and pour concrete around it. Let the concrete cure 24–48 hours before installing the pole.
Set the Pole, Pack & Fly
Lower the pole into the cured sleeve and plumb it true. Pack clean, dry sand around the pole inside the sleeve to lock it in and absorb wind load. Attach your halyard and flag and raise it. A 25 ft+ commercial pole typically needs 2–3 people or a small lift.
