Polyester United States of America Flag

Polyester is the heavy-duty answer for locations that punish flags. If you live on the coast, on an open plain, on a hilltop, or anywhere sustained wind above 25 MPH is normal, the heavier 2-ply spun polyester construction handles the beating better than a lightweight nylon flag. Fly life is similar to nylon — plan on 9–12 months of daily flight before the fly end starts to fray — but the fabric feels and looks more like traditional cotton, with the UV stability and rot resistance of a modern synthetic.

The tradeoffs: polyester is heavy and absorbs water. It needs steady wind to look right — in a 5 MPH breeze on a hot summer afternoon it will hang limp against the pole while a nylon flag flies freely. In rain and heavy storms it soaks up water and gains noticeable weight, which adds strain on the halyard and fly end. Many owners lower a polyester flag ahead of a soaking storm for that reason. Every flag is made in the USA with sewn stripes, embroidered stars, heavy-duty canvas header, and brass grommets. The 3×5 ft size fits 20 ft poles; step to 4×6 for 25 ft and 5×8 for 30 ft installations.
