Economy vs. Standard Commercial Flagpoles

The core spec difference is wall thickness: Economy uses a 0.125" wall at 20–30 ft and 0.156" at 35–40 ft, while Standard holds a 0.156" wall at every height and gets a larger butt diameter at 35 ft and 40 ft. That extra material is what raises the wind rating.

Everything else is shared: both series use the same 6063-T6 USA-made shaft, 5-year shaft warranty, 5/16" braided nylon external halyard, single-pulley external revolving truck, steel culvert ground sleeve with lightning rod, and the same foundation diameter and depth at a given height.

Economy is the value-priced way to get a USA-made commercial pole with the same halyard, truck, finish, warranty, and foundation as Standard. It is a strong fit for typical business sites — a courtyard, a low-rise building, an office park, or any location where the published rating (95 MPH with a 5x8 flag at 25 ft, or 75 MPH with a 5x8 at 30 ft) covers local conditions.

Standard is the right default for most businesses, schools, and HOA installations: it costs modestly more than Economy and carries a higher rating — 110 MPH vs. 95 MPH at 25 ft, and 90 MPH vs. 75 MPH at 30 ft, both with a 5x8 flag. For coastal properties, hurricane-prone regions, or other high-wind exposure, Heavy Duty (0.188" wall) is built for those conditions.
